Welcome to the Maui Police Department’s Online Firearms Transaction Service. This secure platform was developed to make the process of lawful firearm ownership in Maui County more accessible and efficient—without compromising compliance with state or federal law. The service includes three primary modules: (1) Permit to Acquire Applications, required for any firearm acquisition within the State of Hawaiʻi, including purchases, private transfers, gifts, inheritances, or prizes; (2) License to Carry Applications, which allow eligible applicants to carry a properly registered firearm—either concealed or unconcealed—based on the license type; and (3) Firearm Registration, which enables owners of locally acquired firearms to complete registration online without the need for in-person physical inspection.
